Fruity Lifestyle / Urban Fruit Gleaning
« on: November 13, 2009, 09:05:54 am »
We all grew up with the "eat all your food 'cause there's starving children in Africa" routine. Here's a video that kinda has the same concept, but really, we are making sure that all of the abundance found in nature does not go to waste, but feeds those who may not be able to afford good, organic produce:

Off-Topic / Mercury Toxicity
« on: October 15, 2009, 05:42:23 am »
Has anybody successfully detoxed from mercury poisoning from eating just fruits or by fasting?

The traditional way is by chelation and using charcoal?

Does anyone know of anybody that has successfully detoxed from mercury and how they did it and how long it took?

Thanks!

This is a bit of a tear jerker, but it shows the potential that exists for the relationship between humans and what is considered wild animals.

Off-Topic / Plastic Bags
« on: May 30, 2009, 09:31:59 pm »
Since I'm very passionate about the environment, I saw a video that I want to get as wide a circulation as possible. It's showing the environmental destruction of the use of plastic bags. There is one I got via e-mail that showed something similar about plastic bottles. I recycle, but this shows that even that may be harmful. I use cloth bags when I shop from chicobag.com. Whatever you choose to use that is convenient, please, if you are not already in the habit of using cloth bags, have you and your family start now!

Enjoy! Great music. It's about 10 minutes. ;)d

Off-Topic / Vegan Pets
« on: May 30, 2009, 09:27:25 pm »
Okay, I'll venture to be the first "non-fruity" discussion here!

Now don't throw darts at me if you don't agree because I've since found out that there are a lot of vegans who feel very strongly that cats and dogs SHOULD NOT BE VEGAN. If you find yourself in this category, I have already heard all the arguments, so please don't reply.

That said, I have read of reports of vegetarian lions, vegan dogs and cats and started eating raw after reading "Pottenger's Cats", a study of cats fed raw food vs. those fed cooked and the raw cats prospered while the cooked ones didn't. The foods were not vegan, however, and I would like to know if any of you have successfully fed your pets RAW VEGAN for any length of time and are being successful at it, or if you know of anyone who does.

Thanks. ^-^ ;)

Fruity Recipes / I need new recipes
« on: May 27, 2009, 04:46:52 pm »
Okay gang. I really need some new recipes. I am doing celery/tomato/basil soup, mango/mint/tomato soup, banana smoothies and spiralized cucumber with orange/lime/dill/mint dressing.

I need some new stuff. I'm getting bored. Come up with some awesome fruit feasts please!  :o  ;D :D

Thank you in advance...

Fruity Lifestyle / Female Fitness
« on: May 07, 2009, 05:40:03 am »
I haven't seen this topic brought up yet, but I'll be the brave soul to talk about it if nobody else has. If it's in here and I didn't see it, please feel free to direct me there.

One of the many unique "features" or benefits of the fruitarian lifestyle for women is losing the monthly bleeding that goes along with ovulation. My heart skipped a beat when I first learned about this, since I've always known, deep in my heart, that this was unnatural. Ovulation and bleeding are two separate things and I have suffered from endometriosis for 11 years now and would love to get rid of the PAIN as well as the bleeding.

For me, and many other women, avocados and other fats seem to bring about bleeding. I've been doing a lot of reading on this subject, and it does seem that too many fats seem to create congestion.

I would like to know what your experience has been on the fruitarian path and how long it took your to get your "female fitness".

I personally, will jump for joy and probably announce it to the world :) when and if this happens.

Sorry if this subject makes you squirmy, I just feel that too many women have suffered in silence when they should know that there is a way to feel better.

Fruity Lifestyle / Gray Hair

I've read that some people's gray hair has reversed after going raw. Anybody experienced this? If so, how long did it take?

Fruity Lifestyle / Acetone Breath from Eating Bananas
« on: May 04, 2009, 06:20:59 pm »
I've noticed in myself and others that when we eat bananas that our breath smells like marijuana. Somebody told me that it was diabetic ketoacidosis and that it was from high blood sugar that was being metabolized by the body through the breath.

Will this eventually go away? Has anybody else noticed this? What do you do about it?

Fruity Lifestyle / Raynaud's
« on: May 04, 2009, 06:18:21 pm »
I have a condition known as Raynaud's where my fingers go white and numb and then navy blue and back to their original color when they get cold.

I've been doing 100% low-fat raw for over two months now with no overts.

I was wondering if anybody else has experience this and if it went away after awhile?
